Cleaning of Electric Vehicle Motor Shafts

Cleaning machine in the automotive sector

Project specifics

A French automotive supplier asked MecanoLav for its expertise in the design and supply of a washing machine for electric vehicle motor shafts. The objectives: reach a cleaning cycle time of 20 seconds per part (loading/unloading included), achieve high cleanliness with no more than 0.7 mg of residues and integrate a side chamber for sample cleaning without mixing with the production flow.

Cleaning performance: 20 s per part

The cleaning cycle time is 20 seconds, loading/unloading included. The machine is compact, with a double washing chamber, measuring 2900 × 700 × H 2650 mm. It is integrated into a production flow, with robotic or manual loading/unloading.

High cleanliness: residues reduced to 0.7 mg

The required cleanliness is no more than 0.7 mg of residues per part, with zero particles larger than 600 microns. The cleaning action is targeted at the internal bore of the part.

Integrated side chamber: sampling wash

A side chamber allows cleaning and drying of sampling or control parts without any risk of mixing with the production flow. The robot loads the part and the pallet is inserted into the chamber. After washing and drying, the door opens for unloading.
