An industrial group specializing in the manufacture of metal mechanical parts for the automotive industry called on MecanoLav to design a cleaning machine for degreasing and removing particulate matter from short and long shafts.
The objectives were to process up to 135 parts per cycle, at a rate of 3 cycles per hour, prior to packaging and packing.
The machine operates in several stages:
The shafts are positioned vertically in shelves, which are themselves placed in a stainless steel wire rack. The drum oscillates at a configurable angle to enhance the mechanical action of the jets.
The washing and rinsing stages incorporate a triple filtration system with an efficiency-tested cartridge, ensuring the repeatability of the process.
Filtering compressed air to 1 µm also reduces the risk of recontamination during blowing.
Compliance with the ISO 16232 standard is verified by counting metallic and non-metallic particles across different particle size ranges. The 600–1,000 µm and over 1,000 µm classes meet the compliance criteria defined for the application.
The process ensures that the shafts are degreased, clean and dry, and ready for packaging.
