A company in the energy sector approached MecanoLav for the design and supply of a bipolar plate cleaning machine for electrolyzers. The objectives: to remove machining residues from discs and rings in 6 minutes and to optimize the handling of heavy parts within a robotic cell.
The machine processes 2 parts simultaneously per cycle, with a cycle time of 4 to 6 minutes depending on the part (washing, rinsing and drying). Upper and lower rotary spray bars, specifically designed, effectively clean both surfaces of each part.
The large-format working chamber is suited to parts from 0.70 to 2.15 metres in diameter. A lifting system supports heavy loads of up to 1.2 tonnes, and adjustable fixtures with 4 adjustable supports adapt to the diameter of the parts.
The machine features 2 loading / unloading stations, with unobstructed top access for the robot. Translation is provided by a table guided over 2 positions, for part drop-off and pick-up in masked time.
