Discover our degreasing solutions at the Vacuum and Materials Treatments Exhibition

On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, announces the beginning of the Vacuum and Materials Treatments Exhibition in which MecanoLav will participate in the Mulhouse Exhibition Park.

Accompanied by our partner HEMO GmbH, we will meet you until Thursday 6 July at booth 34-35, to exchange on cleaning parts surfaces before and/or after heat treatment.

For the occasion, a work chamber typical of the heat treatment sector will be exhibited on our booth!

Why clean a part before or after heat treatment?

Contaminant Removal : Before a part is heat treated, it is crucial to clean it to remove all contaminants such as dirt, dust, oils, manufacturing residues or protective coatings. These contaminants could react chemically or interfere with the thermal process, compromising the quality of the treatment and the final properties of the part.

Prevention of cross-contamination: In an industrial environment, different parts can be heat treated in series. Cleaning each part before heat treatment prevents cross-contamination, that is, the transfer of contaminants from one part to another. This ensures that each part is treated independently, according to specific requirements.

Improved thermal efficiency: Contaminants on the surface of a room can act as thermal insulation, reducing the efficiency of heat treatment. By cleaning the part, these insulations are removed and the heat treatment is better able to penetrate and act uniformly on the surface, improving the quality and consistency of the treatment.

Surface preparation for other treatments: In many cases, heat treatment is followed by other processes such as coating, machining or assembly. Thorough cleaning after heat treatment ensures that the workpiece surface is ready for these later steps, eliminating residues that could affect the adhesion of coatings or the quality of machining or assembly operations.
