A French public railway company sought MecanoLav’s expertise for the design and supply of a railway axle washing machine.
The project focused on degreasing large parts measuring more than 2.5 meters while optimizing the process through automation and the sustainability of the baths.
The machine has working dimensions of 2800x1500xH1800 mm, meeting the processing needs for parts up to 2.5 meters long.
It is capable of degreasing 40 axles in 7 hours.
Its load capacity of up to 3 metric tons allows it to support the weight of the parts.
The baths are heated by a gas burner.
Oscillating and rotating ramps ensure thorough degreasing of each axle.
A system of mechanical stops ensures that the axles to be cleaned are securely locked in place, providing stability during the process.
Axis transfer is fully automated via a mechanical system controlled by a PLC, enabling autonomous loading and unloading (through-feed machine).
